Rules Caddie is built to settle rules disputes on the course — not to collect your data. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We keep it short and plain because you should actually be able to read it.

We collect the minimum information needed to run the app.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only what those services share — typically an email address or anonymized identifier.
Questions you ask
When you ask a rules question, we store your question and the AI response in your account history. This lets you revisit past rulings. You can delete your history at any time from your account settings.
Subscription information
If you subscribe, your payment is processed by Apple (via in-app purchase) or our payment processor. We never see or store your credit card number. We receive confirmation of your subscription status only.
Usage data
We collect basic usage data — such as app crashes and error logs — to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.
We do not collect your location, contacts, microphone recordings (voice input is processed on-device and not stored), camera access, or any data unrelated to golf rules questions.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your questions with any third party except as required to answer them (see below).
Rules Caddie uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy.
We retain your account data and question history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely.

Rules Caddie is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (TLS), authenticated access, and secure credential storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you in the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
